|  | Dr. Gilner received a Smoke Free Advocacy award from the American Cancer Society on June 15, 2006. Dr. Gilner is Founder and Chair of Smokefree Victoria. Smokefree Victoria and the American Cancer Society formed a coalition advocating for the passage of the Victoria Comprehensive Smokefree Ordinance. The ordinance was passed by the electorate with a 70% majority and now Victoria is a smoke free city prohibiting smoking in all restaurants, bars, and public buildings. |
